December 2021 – We are currently in discussions with Glamorgan as to the possibility of a County Championship Match coming to Colwyn Bay in 2022. The ECB do not expect to be able to produce a first draft of a fixture list until the middle of January at the earliest. We promise to keep this page updated with any news we receive. February 2022 – Glamorgan announce that they will not be travelling to North Wales in the 2022 season, preferring to concentrate their games in and around Cardiff but will be in talks to bring a County Championship match to the North in 2023.
December 2022 – The club are in talks with GCCC regarding the possibility of a County Championship match at the Penrhyn Avenue ground in the 2023 season.
January 2023 – Glamorgan announce they will not be travelling to North Wales in the 2023 season. Although our ground is available to GCCC they decided that due to operational and financial constraints they would not be coming to Colwyn Bay in 2023. We have been told they will start discussions regarding 2024 early this year.
November 2023 – GCCC have decided that due to their financial constraints they are unable to come to North Wales to play a County Championship match in 2024.
