Match no 499 for LDCC
On 18th August Colwyn Bay played their 499th league match in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition, in their 23rd season since joining in 1996.
Sion Morris, making his 446th appearance, was the sole survivor from 1996 in the team, though Huw Roberts had played this season. Huw has a total of 289 league games, a figure only surpassed by Sion and Paul Jenkins (337).
Incredibly, it was an historic event as the Bay beat their opponents Bootle whom they have never managed to get the better of since joining the league. Full result on the results page.
This is the last match on the ground before we welcome Glamorgan CCC and Warwickshire CCC for their Specsavers County Championship match on Wednesday 29th August for four days. Discounted tickets are still available for purchase by CBCC members via the Glamorgan website or by telephone – details on the club notice board. Otherwise tickets will be on sale at each gate every day from 0930.
